Work-package 3: Entrepreneurship teaching and learning Sub-Net
Entrepreneurship is nowadays a subject taught not only in the economic sciences but also in other courses belonging to other areas of study in Higher Education. Although the goal of introducing of such subject into the curriculum more or less the same - to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to open their own business - the structure and time allocation to this subject is very heterogeneous in Europe from country to country and even from University to another. Moreover, still in many courses this subject is not included for various reasons, like lack of qualified teaching staff or, worse, underestimating the importance of this subject.
In order to improve this aspect of crucial importance in Europe today, a number of goals are established for this work-package:
  • Raising the awareness among the European Universities about the importance of Entrepreneurship as a subject to be integrated into curriculum in all Higher Education courses. The European entrepreneurship sector exhibits numerous cases in which graduates of specialities traditionally considered less related to entrepreneurship (e.g. letters and languages) developed very successful business. These cases should not be left to the pure chance, but stimulated by giving the students the chance to learn about entrepreneurship before beginning their professional life.
  • Promoting best practice of teaching Entrepreneurship.
  • Tuning the structure and syllabus for teaching Entrepreneurship in Europe.
